Stokkem - green - 2,5 km
The green hiking loop in the hiking area Stokkem allows you to experience in a nutshell what the RivierPark Maasvallei is: wild river nature, large herbivores, an old branch of the Meuse, and a clay lookout tower with a view of the Meuse.
Extensive description CloseThe green hiking loop is the shortest hiking loop in the Stokkem hiking area and perfectly summarizes what the RivierPark Maasvallei is. An excellent route for a first introduction to the nature reserve Negenoord – Kerkeweerd. This former Maas floodplain has been transformed into a lake area through gravel extraction, surrounded by ecologically rich banks and a colorful and herb-rich mosaic landscape of grasslands and willow woodlands. It is a beautiful place for countless water birds, but the beaver also feels at home here.
This loop is also fully accessible for wheelchair users and strollers.
