Station As - green - 3,8 km
This green hiking route of 3.8 km takes you through woodlands and past agricultural fields.
Extensive description CloseThis hike takes you through woodlands and along vast agricultural fields. You essentially hike a loop around the Bosbeek. The 22 km long Bosbeek originates at the border of As and Genk. For a distance of 2.5 km, it forms the border between As and Opglabbeek, a sub-municipality of Oudsbergen. Afterwards, the Bosbeek flows through Opoeteren and Neeroeteren before flowing into the Maas in Aldeneik (Maaseik). Over this short distance, the Bosbeek has a drop of more than 50 meters, which led to the construction of watermills. The valley forms an incision in the Kempense Plateau, effectively splitting this plateau in two.
