You can expect a short hike through woodland and heathland in the Kikbeekbron subarea.

Extensive description Close

The Kikbeekbron is a 3 km² subarea of the National Park that mainly consists of a former gravel and sand quarry, heathland, and abandoned fields. The Kikbeek springs from this quarry.

The blue and green hiking routes are not accessible from October 18, 2024, to December 31, 2025. The Agency for Nature and Forest starts the largest Blue Deal project in Flanders at the Kikbeek source in Maasmechelen. The goal is to restore the ecosystem of the original Kikbeekvallei. This will retain more water in the area.
