The hiking area is a region of contrasts with, on one hand, the vast fields at the foot of the Kempens Plateau and, on the other hand, the small-scale landscape of De Brand in Voorshoven. Hike past the charming villages of Opitter and Tongerlo or explore along the Zuid-Willemsvaart. Be surprised by the many watermills or the beer brewing process at the brewery in Opitter. With some luck, you might spot the kingfisher or the yellowhammer, and in spring, you will feel like you are in a tropical rainforest in De Brand when the mysterious tree frogs try to outshout each other with their calls.
