The hiking area is a region of contrasts with on one side the vast fields at the foot of the Kempens Plateau and on the other side the small-scale landscape of De Brand in Voorshoven. Hike past the charming villages of Opitter and Tongerlo or explore along the Zuid-Willemsvaart. Let yourself be surprised by the many watermills or the beer brewing process at the brewery in Opitter. With some luck, you might spot the kingfisher or the yellowhammer, and in spring you feel like you are in De Brand in a tropical rainforest at times, as the mysterious tree frogs try to outcall each other.
