The hiking area is a place of contrasts with on one side the vast fields at the foot of the Kempens Plateau and on the other side the small-scale landscape of De Brand in Voorshoven. Hike past the charming villages of Opitter and Tongerlo or explore along the Zuid-Willemsvaart. Be surprised by the many watermills or the process of brewing beer in the brewery in Opitter. With some luck, you might spot the kingfisher or the yellowhammer, and in spring, you’ll feel like you’re in De Brand in a tropical rainforest when the mysterious tree frogs try to outcall each other.
