Vallei van de Bosbeek - yellow - 9,5 km
The Bosbeek, also known as the Oeterbeek, rises on the Kempens Plateau and reaches the Vlakte van Bocholt after a considerable drop. This hike combines the Tösch-Langeren nature reserve with the Jagersborg woodland reserve.
Extensive description CloseIn Wurfeld, the Bosbeek forms the natural boundary between two contrasting landscapes. In the Tösch, you are surprised by a piece of wilderness on a small scale in a marshy environment with broekbos, ponds, rough grasslands, and thickets. On the north side of the winding Bosbeek lies the Langeren area. Here, fields and meadows mainly determine the view. You will find a wealth of small landscape features such as hedgerows and wooded edges over 100 years old. Along this stream, there are still numerous watermills present, such as the Klaaskensmolen in Neeroeteren, the last functioning saw watermill in Flanders, and the Wurfeldermolen in Wurfeld.
