Vallei van de Bosbeek - orange - 5,2 km
The Bosbeek, also known as the Oeterbeek, springs from the Kempens Plateau and reaches the Vlakte van Bocholt after a considerable descent. This hike in Tösch-Langeren takes you past meadows, fields, woodlands, and wooded edges.
Extensive description CloseIn Wurfeld, the Bosbeek forms the natural boundary between two contrasting landscapes. In the Tösch, you are surprised by a small-scale wildness in a marshy environment with broekbos woodlands, ponds, rough areas, and thickets. On the north side of the winding Bosbeek lies the Langeren area. Here, fields and meadows primarily define the view. You will find a wealth of small landscape features such as hedgerows and wooded edges over 100 years old. Numerous watermills are still present on this stream, such as the Klaaskensmolen in Neeroeteren, the last functioning saw watermill in Flanders, and the Wurfeldermolen in Wurfeld.
