This medium-length walk introduces you to the Dilserbos forest. The route also passes along the hillside. You are now in the northern part of the Terhills area (above the N75).

Extensive description Close

This walk starts at the Dilserbos entry point and takes you on a long, varied journey through the diverse landscape of the Kempen Plateau. You will walk through extensive forests, with considerable relief and some steep slopes along the way. At the edge of the plateau, you will have a view of the lower Meuse Valley, where the difference in altitude is up to 50 metres. Along the way, you will also pass the Driepaalhoeve, a historic farm dating from 1876, named after a triangular boundary marker that marked the former municipalities of Dilsen, Rotem and Opoeteren. The farm used to play an important role in converting heathland into agricultural land, which can still be seen today in the surrounding farmland.
