Terhills - red - 10,1 km
A walk in the Dilserbos that gives you the feeling of walking from mountain to mountain: the Kempens Plateau deceives you here. Follow red for 10.1 km. You are now in the northern part of the Terhills area (above the N75).
Extensive description CloseThis walk starts at the Dilserbos boarding point. Along the way, you will pass the Driepaalhoeve, named after a triangular bluestone boundary marker about one metre high, on which the names of the former municipalities of Opoeteren, Dilsen and Rotem are carved. Today, Opoeteren is a borough of Maaseik, while Dilsen and Rotem are part of Dilsen-Stokkem. The farm itself was built in 1876 and converted into a hotel-restaurant and campsite in 1980. It played an important role in converting the former heathland into agricultural land in this region. Around the farm, you can see vast fields that resulted from this conversion.
