The yellow hiking route takes you through the heathland reserve. Heathland as far as the horizon.
Extensive description CloseFrom mid-August to mid-September, the heathland is in bloom and you can enjoy a purple natural painting. But even in other seasons, you can enjoy the beauty and pure simplicity of nature with a view over the former sand and gravel quarry.
Along the way, you also pass the 'Opening Stone,' a large boulder placed at the opening of the Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen on March 23, 2006.
Halfway through the route, you will encounter a stairway. Hike up this and enjoy a picnic with a beautiful panorama over the heathland.
