The hiking area Hoksent - Molhem offers a rich variety of landscapes thanks to centuries of small-scale farming. In the lower, moist parts you find grasslands, while the higher, drier grounds are dotted with fields, wooded edges, and shrubs. The routes take you along the winding Dommel and Bollissenbeek, through alder marsh forests and colorful grasslands. In the higher areas, you discover characteristic long facade farmsteads and fields.
This area has a long history, evidenced by the prehistoric burial mounds of Molhem that you encounter along the way.
