Hoksent-Molhem (Near National Park Bosland) - purple - 11,9 km

The purple route introduces you to the drier part of the hiking area, with its typical meadows and wooded edges.

Along the way, you will encounter burial mounds and long-gabled farmsteads. But of course, you will also discover the wet areas in the Dommelvallei, hiking on boardwalks through the alder carrs and crossing the meandering Dommel several times. Moreover, you pass the burial mounds of Molhem where you can learn more about some prehistoric customs.

Small-scale farming in this hiking area Hoksent - Molhem has created great diversity in the landscape over the centuries. In the lower damp areas were the grasslands, on the higher, drier grounds the fields, alternated with wooded edges and shrubs.

The hiking routes lead you along the meandering Dommel and Bollissenbeek, alder carrs, and beautiful flower-rich grasslands. In the higher areas, you will find typical long-gabled farmsteads and fields. That this area was already popular in prehistoric times is proven by the burial mounds of Molhem which you will encounter on several hiking routes.
