Grootloon - orange cross - 9,2 km
A beautiful, varied hike that takes you through meadows and orchards and over the Roman cobblestones to the village of Grootloon.
Extensive description CloseBorgloon, once the headquarters of the counts of Loon, is lined with orchards, including quite a few tall-stemmed ones. Here you will also find rolling fields and wooded ridges. One moment you are hiking through medieval alleys and over the former city walls, and the next an endless landscape unfolds before you. Let yourself be enchanted by the village of Grootloon with its authentic surroundings. Few places in Haspengouw are as richly contoured. Along the way, you will also enjoy panoramic views. The fact that the Romans already appreciated this place becomes clear when you hike in their sandal tracks along the route of the Roman Kassei.
All hikes pass by the 'doorkijkerkje' - Reading between the lines by the architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh.
