Koe-vert
Koe-vert is a tavern located in the beautiful nature reserve Kiewit, the green lung of Hasselt.
Koe-vert offers self-service dishes and drinks that focus on organic, local, and fair trade products.
On our drinks menu, we offer a wide range of organic and fair trade products, our own pressed Wroeter apple juice, and the well-known soft drinks. Our beer selection offers something for everyone: from (organic) local beers to refreshing classics. The wines we serve come from Oxfam's fair trade selection. And we keep renewing our menu.
Those who want to satisfy a small hunger or thirst can visit the Oxfam vending machine at the entrance.
Our vegetables, delicious bread, pastries, (spelt) flour, eggs,... from vzw De Wroeter form the basis for the prepared dishes. Local products have an important place in our kitchen.
With a limited menu, Koe-vert still tries to offer something tasty for every visitor. You can come to us every day for fresh daily soups, pasta (also gluten-free), croques, meal salads, savory and sweet pancakes, sandwiches, …
Dessert lovers also have plenty of choice: scoop ice cream to melt away with, a tasty piece of Limburg vlaai or something small and sweet to nibble on like our Wroeter cookies.
All this in the beautiful surroundings of the petting zoo & Domein Kiewit and within hiking and bike distance from Bokrijk.
Koe-vert, a branch of vzw De Wroeter, is committed to sustainable employment.
In short, Respect for people & nature, that’s what we stand for!
