Resterheide - red - 2,5 km

The Ladybug Trail is a short, semi-paved route specially designed for hiking strollers but also for people with visual impairments.

Along the way, you will encounter various experience elements from the Reigerpad, adapted for the blind and visually impaired. Resterheide, located on the border of Hechtel-Eksel and Peer, is a diverse area where you can explore the source area of the Zwarte Beek and the Bollissenbeek.

Although the name suggests otherwise, Resterheide mainly consists of farmland and coniferous woods. The hiking trails take you past ponds, coniferous and deciduous forests, nature fields, and typical agricultural landscapes.

Through the Reigerpad, you can learn about the forest in a playful way, and along the route, you can overcome obstacles on the Squirrel's Twist. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to spot water birds from the vantage point by the ponds.
