Pijnven - orange - 6,8 km
The orange hike introduces you to the versatile Pijnven. You hike past play areas and meadows, under the iconic bike bridge 'Cycling through the Trees', and alongside the innovative Treehouse. Enjoy the vast pine woodlands along the way.
Extensive description CloseFor those seeking the true woodland experience, Pijnven is the perfect place. The hiking routes guide you through a setting of coniferous forests and avenues lined with beautiful American oaks. In autumn, these exotics create a true explosion of colors. Along the way, you will occasionally encounter old heathland relics.
The hikes lead past the Treehouse, an architectural treehouse that can be rented by companies and organizations wanting to hold meetings about sustainability in a unique location. In the area around the Treehouse, you can try disc golf.
For children, this woodland is the ultimate natural playground. In the play area and on the play meadows, they can freely romp and build camps. On the open spots, some play elements provide extra climbing and scrambling fun.
You can choose from different routes in Pijnven:
- The blue woodland inhabitants route (2.8 km) allows the very youngest to compare their skills with those of the animals in the woodland.
- The orange hiking route (6.8 km) passes the monumental bike bridge of 'Cycling through the Trees'. You can make this route even more interesting with the interactive route description from the forest ranger.
- The red route is the longest (10.6 km) and leads you past the Butterfly Valley (most beautiful in summer) and the artwork ‘De Boom in’ by Will Beckers. Those who prefer to create their own route can use the nodes of the hiking network Bosland.
