Nieuwenhoven - red - 7,0 km
Haspengouw
This hiking loop takes you beyond the borders of the domain woodland. Castles, farmsteads, and rolling fields testify to a rich past.
Extensive description CloseSpread out in the valley of the Kelsbeek lie the woodland and the castle of Nieuwenhoven. Hike in the shadow of imposing beech, oak, and chestnut trees battling for dominance over the woodland. You will find sand, loam, and clay in the soil here. The result is a colorful palette of plants: from abundant spring flowers to rare mosses and a diverse mix of mushrooms. In the play area of the provincial estate, children can romp to their heart's content.
