Extensive description CloseIn de Maten you will find a piece of authentic pond landscape with beautiful historic ponds, connected by heads and tails. It is the ideal area for bird lovers, as the ponds are breeding grounds for numerous water and songbirds. The Augustinian pond is a resting place for countless birds during their migration. The yellow hike is the ideal route to get to know de Maten and its beautiful ponds and heathland.
After prolonged wet periods, the path through the sheep meadow is often flooded. During wet periods, we recommend choosing a different starting point/route in the hiking area De Maten.
