This is humid Haspengouw at its finest. In this region, centuries of hardship and toil have taken place in the heavy soil. The sweat left behind has left deep traces, resulting in a varied landscape of spring woodlands, orchards, meadows, fields, hedges, and holloways. In Flanders, you will only find such a remarkably high density of holloways in South Limburg. They are characteristic of Haspengouw and Voeren and, in addition to being a valuable nature connection, also form an important source of biodiversity in the agricultural cultural landscape.
