Extensive description Close

Thanks to the nodes, you can hike here for as short or as long as you want. Stevensweert is one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands, with a street pattern that refers to the Spanish occupation. Roosteren is a compact Maas village where you can find old farmsteads. The landscape in between lies along the Maas and is partly nature reserve and partly agricultural area. You can connect both villages by following the 'Soldatenpaadje.' This is a historic route that soldiers also took during the Eighty Years' War from their garrison in Stevensweert to Fort Cantelmo just above Roosteren.
