The hiking area St. Maartensheide-De Luysen is located along the Abeek and is part of a 40 ha large pond area. The red route takes you directly along the Abeek, giving you a beautiful view of the marshes of the Grootbroek and the Stramprooierbroek.
Extensive description CloseThis route takes you through the heart of KempenBroek. Be sure to look out for signs of the beaver! In addition, you will also hike through St. Maartensheide. Meadows, fields, woodlands, wooded edges, rows of trees, and ponds create a small-scale landscape that is especially suitable for the woodchat shrike, the yellowhammer, and meadow birds such as the curlew and the godwit. Stop at the Luysmolen for a snack or a nice cup of coffee.
