A beautiful hike with some steep sections where nature and cultural history alternate. The route runs along the edge of the ENCI quarry, past the Devil's Cave, across the Caestert plateau, and along the bank of the Meuse.
Extensive description CloseSouth of Maastricht, between Jeker and Maas rises the Sint-Pietersberg. The extraction of marl created a maze of underground tunnels and took a significant bite out of the hill. Thousands of bats hibernate in the tunnels.
