The Streek-GR Haspengouw is a looped long-distance hiking trail through Haspengouw. The route is 182 km long: a main route of 130 km and an additional 52 km of shortcuts, allowing you to make shorter loops as well!

The adventurous hiker who turns hiking into a day trip will find everything they desire on the Streek-GR Haspengouw. You can connect various hiking routes to create a multi-day hiking holiday. Those traveling by train can start from the stations of Sint-Truiden, Alken, or Tongeren. Each village center is also accessible by bus. There are several nice accommodations in the area around the Streek-GR, so it's very easy to make a multi-day hiking adventure out of it.

Signposting: Where the route coincides with other GRs you will find white-red signs, elsewhere yellow-red.

The Streek GR Haspengouw passes the NMBS stations of Bilzen and Sint-Truiden and is 200 meters from the station of Tongeren. From the station of Alken, it is a 2 km hike along Stationsstraat to the center of Alken, where the streek GR passes.
Along the route, there are five bivouac areas. In this folder you will find two suggested routes.
After a wet period, some parts of this route can be very muddy.
