The yellow hike takes you through the Broekbeemd. Beemd means 'hay meadow in a stream valley.' The hiking trails meander between humid hay meadows, rough grasslands, and thickets of willows, alders, and hawthorn shrubs.
Extensive description CloseLimburgs Landschap vzw ensures proper management of the Herkbeemden, with the help of enthusiastic volunteers from the local nature association 't Bokje. Ponds and swamp woodlands add extra life to the area. Boardwalks take you through the wettest spots of the valley. Waterproof shoes are recommended, even during dry periods.
