This is one of the rare hikes in Haspengouw where you can enjoy the true woodland feeling. In winter or after a heavy rainfall, some paths can be muddy. Sturdy footwear or boots are then recommended.

Extensive description Close

The Bellevuebos is located on the steepest slope of the Winterbeekvallei and is one of the largest contiguous woodlands in this region, managed by the Agency for Nature and Forest. The beautiful vistas that the name 'Bellevue' refers to are due to the fact that this estate lies between 60 and 87 meters above sea level. At the southern edge of the woodland, you will find Belle Vue Castle, probably an 18th-century hunting pavilion of Baron de Copis, the then castle lord of Gors.
