Landscape hike Cicindria (Dutch)
Note: The informational text on this map is in Dutch, but the map itself can be used without issue.
On this hike, you hike along fields, through holloways, and follow the meanders of the Cicindria, which peacefully winds through its valley here. The Latin Cicindria stands for 'three swans,' a reference probably originating from the Celts. You also visit Straeten, where several Roman roads crossed and a Roman burial chamber with many grave goods was discovered. This is also the birthplace of Sint-Truiden: Trudo, founder of the city, came from a Straetens estate.
