The hiking area Stramprooierbroek takes you through the heart of the Kempen~Broek. You will pass wet marshes with alders and willow scrub, oak woodlands, meadows with wooded edges and ponds, stately oak avenues, and certainly the Abeek and Lossing. The wettest parts were spared from cultivation, allowing you to now enjoy the peace and space in one of the quietest spots in Limburg. The abundant presence of water makes Stramprooierbroek and the adjacent nature areas the richest dragonfly habitat in the Benelux. But also for many plants, butterflies such as the large pearl-bordered fritillary, and other animals, Stramprooierbroek is a paradise on earth.
