In the small-scale hiking area Elen, you will find some beautiful waterplas such as Meerheuvel and Bichterweerd. They form a huge attraction for numerous waders and other special waterbirds. In Elerweerd, another waterplas, gravel is still being extracted at the moment. The landscape will change significantly in the coming years with more space for (new) nature. Furthermore, you will become acquainted with the charming Maasdorp Elen and hike from there through an agricultural landscape to the Maas. To the west of the village Elen lies a special nature area 'De Broeken,' a small piece of marshland in the Maasvallei.

This hiking map contains 2 hiking routes of 6.5 and 8 km, information about several sights along the way, and an overview of the partners involved in this area.

This hiking map is also included in the Hiking box RivierPark Maasvallei. The routes of this hiking area can also be found on the RivierPark Maasvallei regional map.
