Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen
Hiking map Lieteberg (Dutch)
Note: The informational text on this map is in Dutch, but the map itself can be used without issue.
The hikes starting from Lieteberg introduce visitors to some charming natural areas on the gently rolling southern edge of the Hoge Kempen. The heathland here has made way for coniferous forests, but Bezoensberg remains a beautiful heathland relic, while Hesselsberg contains the second largest juniper scrub of the Hoge Kempen. Papendaalheide shows you a distinctive trench landscape. Further south, the surroundings of Hoefaert, Roelen, and Gellik offer a varied woodland area. Gellik lies on the border with Haspengouw, which is evident from the orchards located at the edge of the village. The hiking area includes 9 hikes, ranging from 3 km to 13.5 km. Hiking loops can be combined using the hiking switches! Tip: discover the Top Trail Lieteberg: the red route of 10.2 km!
