The hiking trail network includes two areas that are very similar in landscape and mainly consist of pine woodlands: Kattevennen in the north and the Hei- en Meibos in the south. The hiking trails of Kattevennen are connected to the center and train station of Genk via the Molenvijver and Heempark. The hiking area comprises 6 hikes, ranging from 5 km to 11.7 km, which of course can be combined with the hiking switch system.
