Villa van Brienen

logies

Welcome to Villa van Brienen, an estate with a manor house located on the edge of the Maaslands village of Rotem. The stately house was built in the 19th century by the noble family ‘van Brienen’ during the same period the canal was dug. For a long time, there was also a customs post here for passing ships. Meanwhile, the Dreessen family has lived here for 4 generations, but to be fair, the original name ‘Villa van Brienen’ remains.

The front façade enjoys a quiet view of the Zuid-Willemsvaart, while the rear façade faces the woodlands of the Kempens plateau. Nearby is bike node 44 of the Limburgs bike trail and the Bergerven nature reserve (Limburgs Landschap), of which Jean Dreessen is curator. The main gateway of the Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen ‘Connecterra’ is also close by.
