Accommodation Het Hemelsveld is a charming farmstead in Alken, just 10 km from Hasselt and Sint-Truiden, in the heart of Haspengouw. Paul and Diantha welcome you to their authentic farmstead with a large garden.

De Smidse is a spacious apartment (100m2) on the ground floor for a maximum of six people, with two separate bedrooms and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. The accommodation is wheelchair accessible. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a luxury bathroom with walk-in shower, and a separate toilet. Bed, bath, and kitchen linens are provided, and for the little ones, there is a free high chair and a crib with mattress. Water, tea, and coffee (filter and Nespresso) are provided. There is also free wifi, Netflix, and (secured) parking.

TIP: in De Smidse, you can easily gather with a larger group (about 18 people). Extra chairs and tables are provided for this purpose.

On request, there is an ‘Alkens breakfast’ delivered to your door in the form of a richly filled picnic basket with local and homemade delicacies. On sunny days, you can also order an extensive BBQ package with organic meat, vegetables, and salads.

You can relax wonderfully in the infrared sauna, the peaceful garden, and sun terraces. For the children, there is a large trampoline, swings, outdoor toys, and a pétanque court for cozy summer evenings with family and friends. During harvest season, you can also enjoy cherries, apples, berries, and walnuts from the garden.

Alken is the perfect base to explore the fruit and blossom region. Visit the charming Sint-Truiden or Hasselt, discover Limburg on one of the many bike trails, and enjoy Limburg’s gastronomy. Ask Paul & Diantha for their personal tips for fun outings and delicious restaurants nearby.

Het Hemelsveld is a recognized bike accommodation and is located right on the fietsroutenetwerk. Rent one of the e-bikes on site and go out exploring!
