Castle Hex: showpiece of the Haspengouw castle landscape
Heks
Haspengouw
What once started as a hunting lodge grew in the 18th century into an impressive castle with a beautiful landscape park. The park and the rose gardens were classified in 2005. The rose garden houses an authentic collection of old and wild roses, some of which date back to the eighteenth century and are internationally renowned among experts. Some of these old rose varieties were imported from Asia by the East India Company. Twice a year (in June and September), Hex castle opens its gates for garden days and plant fairs.
