Café De Vègtes

Café De Vègtes has been guaranteeing a warm welcome to its guests for over 40 years, treating its customers to a wide selection of beers and Trappists, a broad range of soft drinks, or a delicious cup of coffee. Our farmstead-style café features a beautiful sun terrace, a playground for young families, and is located on the edge of the woodland at the border between the sub-municipalities Hamont and Achel. The Netherlands is just 1 km away from our café by a direct route.

In addition to the wide selection of drinks, our customers can also enjoy a tasty meal (fresh croques, pastas, pizza baguettes, homemade fries with vidée or stew, and delicious beef hamburgers). We also spoil you with delightful desserts such as Brussels waffles, pastries, ice cream sundaes...

From our location, recreational hikers can choose from many hiking and bike routes in the beautiful "green" border area between Belgium and the Netherlands. Several hiking routes pass by our café, including the "Teutenroute." We are a bike café, so cyclists are very welcome and may enjoy their own sandwiches here while the bike is being recharged! If you have special requests (for groups, parties, etc.), please do not hesitate to contact us.

Since spring 2020, we are also located on the new hiking trail network, which also connects to the Dutch nodes. This gives hikers endless possibilities to enjoy our beautiful nature in complete tranquility. You can find the info board on our free parking. After a well-deserved effort, our team will be at your service with the necessary care.
