Leut - red - 14,0 km
RivierPark Maasvallei
The red hiking loop is a robust hike through the floodplains of the Maas, the charming village and castle park of Leut. In Eisden, you can hike along the canopy trail, through the tops of the trees.
Extensive description CloseHere you discover the impact of the mine subsidence on the region. Water is continuously pumped out to prevent the 'sunken village' from flooding. Nearly half of Limburg's drinking water is extracted here. The nature reserve Het Greven was once an open and wet hayfield; today it is a nature-rich marsh.
